Safe Space Officer NGO’s Job in Balkh at AWEC Through ACBAR Job

A group of educated Afghan women living in exile came together to form AWEC, a non-political, non-profit national organization led by women, in 1991 to address the dearth of resources for Afghan refugees in Islamabad and then Peshawar, Pakistan. AWEC has always supported women’s and children’s rights via lobbying and education, while also offering assistance to those who regularly stray from safety nets. Supporting women by organizing Afghans—from local communities to political elites—to work toward the ultimate objective of decreasing and finally ending violence against women has been one of AWEC’s main initiatives in recent years.

Our goal at AWEC is to create “an inclusive and just society where all women and children have access to opportunities to improve their quality of life in order to realize their full potential, with a sensitive and responsive public and private sector.”
