Psycho-Social Support Counselor in SRMO Afghanistan 12 Cities Job Through ACBAR Job

Since 2013, the Safety and Risk Mitigation Organization (SRMO) has been registered with the Afghan Ministry of Economy as a non-governmental, nonpartisan, and non-profit organization. Our humanitarian organization focuses on developing human resources, aiding communities around Afghanistan, and offering psycho-social training and support to people.

We are seeking qualified female psycho-social counselors to serve in the Afghanistani areas indicated above.

Job Description:

In close collaboration with project beneficiaries, families, and communities, the psycho-social worker will offer psychological and social support and guidance, as well as appropriate psychosocial sessions to identified individuals or households in need, including children through family groups and individual sessions. She offers advice and emotional assistance to parents who are having trouble raising their kids.

What are the Responsibilities and Duties

  • In outreach teams and medical institutions, provide psychological assistance.
  • Offer Counseling and Psycho-Social Interventions That Are Basic and Accessible
  • Determine, create, and improve customer referral channels to guarantee they are connected to the necessary resources.
  • Conduct group and individual psychosocial support sessions.
  • Assist individuals in developing more resilience and coping skills for daily life.
  • Assist the recipients in returning to their regular life and mental health.
  • Conduct education programs about the services that are offered and assist with referrals.
  • Communicate with psychologists, psychiatrists, general practitioners, and other medical specialists.
  • Engage in capacity-building trainings and put them into practice in the community or field.

Job Requirements:

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is needed in education, Midview’s/Nurses, psychology, social work, or counseling, or any discipline connected to the social sciences.
  • possessing a certificate in psychosocial counseling from any accredited school or organization.  

Important: 

  • A bachelor’s degree and at least one year of work experience are required, as is two years of experience in a comparable field with a certificate in psychosocial counseling, mobile health teams, primary care, or any non-profit organization.
  • strong communication, networking, and interpersonal abilities.  

Ideal:

  • one year of experience as an NGO employee.
  • proficiency in writing and speaking English

Proficiency:

  • It is necessary to speak Dari and Pashto fluently in the native tongue.
