Improving the health outcomes of urban residents is the aim of the USAID-funded Urban Health Initiative (UHI) Program, which focuses primarily on the health of women, children, and other vulnerable groups. The goal of interventions is to improve health care quality, demand, and access. Kabul, Herat, Mazar-e-Sharif, Jalalabad, and Kandahar are the five Afghan cities where UHI is being implemented. Jhpiego is leading this coalition of organizations that is in charge of the program.
Job Description:
- Perform task related to hygiene according to the protocol apply in the services, no and apply specific hygiene protocol and security rules.
- Maintain clean and disinfected HF environment, infrastructure allocated to her/ his position include the furniture, walls and floors and some medical materials applying specific protocols and using the tools and equipment provided.
- Clean floors, equipment, beds, toilets and showers according to the protocols and scheduled.
- To maintain an effective standard of care and a secure environment, gather and remove garbage generated by the medical facility to the assigned location, which has already been sorted by medical personnel. Empty trash cans as needed.
- In conjunction with the nursing and health promotion team, educate patients, visitors, and staff on the usage of water distribution points, latrines, handwashing stations, and washing areas.
- Make sure soap is provided for hand washing and that all water containers—both drinking and hand washing—are filled to the brim each morning.
- Install masque nets as required for inpatient bed and carry out laundry activities according to the protocol.
- Insure proper use, storage and maintenance of the equipment and tools provided.
- Insure availability of hygiene and sanitation product and draws up orders for ongoing need.
- Notify the line manager of any necessary hygiene-related repairs or maintenance.
- Give regular feedback to the line manager and report directly any issue or incident.
- Execute hygienic tasks in accordance with the procedures used in the services.

- Notify the line manager of any necessary hygienic repairs or maintenance.
- Make sure that all safety and security protocols are followed when patients and clients sign in and out of the HF.
- Verify that patients and customers are informed of the regulations that need to be followed.
- Clear trespassers and undesirable people from the property and HF.
- In the event of an accident or criminal conduct, get in touch with the appropriate authorities. Give reports to supervisors on a regular basis.

Job Requirements:
