The Ministry of Economy registered the Equality for Peace and Development Organization (EPDO) in 2010 as a National NGO. According to EPDO, Afghanistan would be a developed, peaceful country with no discrimination and equal rights for all Afghans. The aim of EPDO is to advance human rights, peace, and good governance by empowering and strengthening women and youth at the community and policy levels. With provincial offices spread throughout many provinces, EPDO’s main office is located in Kabul.
Job Description:
During the first phase of the Local Action Fund, EPDO served as a hub organization, supporting local networks, CSOs, and WROs in five Afghan provinces that were primarily focused on peace-building efforts. They also provided mentorship to ensure that their action plans were carried out effectively. EPDO provided immediate, flexible institutional financing via the Local Action Fund to community-based groups to meet their survival requirements and to allow them to pay wages and stipends to their staff and volunteers. The LAF 2.0 seeks to increase community resilience by fostering economic growth, assisting Self-Help Groups (SHGs), and fortifying community-based CSOs so they may thrive beyond just survival. The assessment consultant aims to determine the project’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in addition to evaluating the project’s relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, impact, and sustainability. The consultant will also provide practical suggestions for future improvements and decision-making. Workplace: Afghanistan’s capital, Kabul Positions: One Duration of Work: 60 days Extent of Task or Assignment: Work with the project team to develop an assessment strategy that is comprehensive and outlines the data gathering tools, methodology, and timeframe. Perform Desk Review: Examine reports, documents, and other data currently in existence to comprehend the history and status of the project. Engage important stakeholders in the project, such as partners, staff, beneficiaries, and other pertinent parties, via focus groups, surveys, interviews, and other data gathering methods. Analyze data using both qualitative and quantitative techniques to make sure it is accurate and reliable. Draft and Complete Report: Write an exhaustive assessment report that includes conclusions, suggestions that can be put into practice, and results. After getting comments, present the draft report and make any necessary revisions. Presentation of Results: Highlight the most important insights and suggestions when presenting the assessment results to the project team and important stakeholders.
