DAWAM Project Manager job in Herat at WVI (World Vision International) Through ACBAR Job

In 2001, World Vision International (WVI) started providing emergency aid in Afghanistan to children and families who had been impacted by decades of violence and natural catastrophes. Over ten years later, World Vision Afghanistan’s (WVA) initiatives have grown to include development domains including child protection, education, nutrition, health, and WASH. This has enabled women to take part in interfaith partnerships that promote civic and social change.

WVA focuses on interventions on the most vulnerable groups, such as women, children, internally displaced people (IDPs), returnee refugees, and the poorest and most disadvantaged households. Our goal is to “improve the survival and well-being of Afghan girls and boys, building the foundations for a better future for Afghan children and their communities,” and these priorities have been selected to help us achieve that goal.

In the western provinces of Afghanistan, including Herat, Badghis, Ghor, and Faryab, our activity is well established. Children, parents, teachers, village councils, religious leaders, ministries, provincial departments, and other national and international organizations are just a few of the groups with which we collaborate closely.

Job Description:

The DAWAM Project Manager (PM) is in charge of overseeing the multisectorial project, Driving Action for Wellbeing to Avert Mortality (DAWAM), which is funded by World Vision FCDO. The PM focuses on WASH, Health, and Nutrition sector components to support the most vulnerable populations in the provinces of Badghis, Herat, and Faryab. The PM is responsible for guiding a skilled group of sector leaders and coordinators at the zonal level to meet the goals specified in the grant request. This role, which reports to the director of operations and programs, is primarily in charge of representing the project to top leadership from World Vision Afghanistan, local government officials, and other important stakeholders. Principal duties include guaranteeing the superior execution of project operations, handling finances in compliance with donor specifications and global accounting norms, submitting reports on time to donors and other relevant parties, and making a comprehensive impact on the well-being of children. Since World Vision is the primary sponsor of this award, the role will need some cooperation with other consortium members, including fostering amicable and cooperative relationships with partners. The project manager will supervise the work component of the project and make sure that the goals are met within the allocated money, time, and scope.
